A special needs momma

Don’t tell us that you understand

That it is all part of Gods plan

Don’t tell us that we are strong and we will surely grow

That this is just a test

We will look back on this and just accept

Don’t tell us , we will stand apart from the rest.

Don’t come to us and tell us how this is done.

That can only come from us who have already gone.

Don’t stand in judgment from the choices we have had to make.

And the heartbreak we have had to take.

Don’t tell us not to suffer not to cry.

You have to know that every moment we try.

To do all we can so our children will not die.

We need your love and not your pity.

A helping hand an unflinching eye.

A listening ear and the grace to love

  1. Shelley, lovely post....one thing I found is that people don't "know" what to say so they give unsolicited advice which can often inflict pain...the opposite of their intention .... Such as, "just don't go crazy like my friend when --- happened to her kid" ..... May those who cross your path ask...how can I help? ..rather than....you should ---- or shouldn't ---- nah, you should do what you think is best for your child just like they do.... without nit picking from others.... Every now and then we still sing Lauren's song about echolocation when watching nature shows...miss you all. Dotty
